Architect: BOURNE + BLUE ARCHITECTURE
Derived from Hawaiian origins, Kailani translates to “sea and sky” or “heavenly sea.” The name perfectly captures the essence of this new build by KD Carpentry. Designed to feel open and light-filled, this home features clean architectural lines and warm textured timber.
The upper-level is wrapped in vertical timber cladding, creating a sculptural presence. Deep overhangs and recessed openings provide natural shading and privacy. The interplay of light and shadow across the timber façade reflects the ever-changing qualities of the sky that inspired the home’s name.
Indoor and outdoor living flow throughout the home. Full-height sliding glass doors open from the kitchen and dining space onto the timber deck, where a custom slatted pergola filters sunlight, creating patterns throughout the day. This covered alfresco area extends the living space, offering a comfortable setting for entertaining year-round.
Inside, natural timber cabinetry and custom joinery are paired with polished concrete floors and cream white surfaces. A kitchen island anchors the open-plan layout, complemented by soft feature lighting. Every element has been considered for family living and aesthetic harmony.
Drawing from its environment, the architecture prioritises light, flow and longevity, capturing this coastal setting beautifully.
“A truly personalised building experience”.
Outstanding finish, incredible attention to detail, and a truly personalised building experience. Kai and his team brought our architect’s vision to life perfectly, with beautiful timber finishes throughout. The end result is a home that feels uniquely ours — our dream forever home.
